About Ken's Catering

As a young man growing up, I worked after school and on weekends to help support my mother and family. I worked at Buddy's Bar-B-Q Restaurant and Grill on 12th and Clairmont on Detroit's Westside as a short-order cook, cooking ribs and chicken on rotisserie.

My sister and I would hold weekly contests to see who could cook the best ribs and make the best sauce. My ribs and I have both come a long way from the days, more than fifty years ago now, when I cooked my ribs on a grill made from chicken wire over an old metal washtub.

After these many years, God has blessed me with a technique, inspired by my grandmother and my sister. The result has been a glorious adventure and the development of my Mild & Wild Barbecue Sauce, and the signature cooking method that makes these mouth-watering ribs fall off the bone.

After all these years I have perfected my methods and unique flavor and am pleased that I am able to share them with you, your family, friends, or whoever you invite to your special event.
